Description

Kyrgies Woven Wool Slippers
Our softest slippers yet, Kyrgies Wovens are made from thick, handspun wool yarn using traditional rug-weaving techniques. Lightweight and flexible, they pack easily for travel and mold comfortably to your feet.

Handmade by a women’s cooperative in the Alay Valley of southern Kyrgyzstan, these slippers are naturally moisture-wicking, odor-resistant, and ideal for wider or more sensitive feet. With a cozy feel and slightly higher back, they’re your perfect companion for comfort at home, or wherever life takes you.

How are these made?

We are glad you asked. We've created two videos that show the process in detail.

Why we love this product
Our kind of house shoe: handcrafted in Kyrgyzstan from all-natural, mulesing-free wool using centuries-old felting techniques. The woven detailing adds a little character while the dense, breathable felt keeps feet warm, dry, and happy year-round. Fair wages, family-run farms, and low-impact dyes — sustainable comfort you can feel good about wearing every single day.

Handmade wool slippers, plastic-free

Kyrgies house shoes are handmade from all-natural Kyrgyz wool in a women-owned, fair-wage workshop, using felting traditions passed down for generations. Every pair is plastic-free, naturally warm, and built to last — wool from mulesing-free sheep and leather tanned with tree extracts instead of chromium. Comfort with a conscience.

Frequently asked questions

What are Kyrgies Wovens made of?
They're woven from thick, handspun wool yarn using traditional rug-weaving techniques — naturally moisture-wicking and odor-resistant, with no plastic.
Are they good for wide or sensitive feet?
Yes! They're lightweight and flexible, mold comfortably to your feet, and have a slightly higher back, which makes them a lovely choice for wider or more sensitive feet.
Can I travel with them?
Definitely — they're light and flexible, so they pack down easily and come along wherever life takes you.
Who makes them?
They're handmade by a women's cooperative in the Alay Valley of southern Kyrgyzstan, using traditional craft techniques.
How do I care for them?
Wool is naturally odor-resistant, so airing them out keeps them fresh. Spot-clean gently with cool water and a little mild soap as needed, then let them air-dry.
Are they a sustainable choice?
They are — made from natural wool that's biodegradable and plastic-free, and handcrafted with fair wages for the artisans who make them.
